Dominican Rep. LNB round 14 best performance: Luismal Ferreiras (by Hoops Agents)

Power forward Luismal Ferreiras (200-PF-2003) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Indios de San Francisco, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 34 points and 16 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to Caneros (#4, 8-8) 100-105. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Despite this loss Indios managed to keep Dominican Rep. LNB leading position. But there are still few teams in the league, which Indios can lose the games to. Now they are 12-3 and hopefully next round will be better. Ferreiras just recently signed at Indios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Luismal Ferreiras has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.8ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 10.9rpg) and averages impressive 60.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Serbian Lazar Lugic (208-F-1998, agency: Dagger Basket) of Caneros Del Este. Lugic had a very good evening with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Caneros to edge the higher-ranked Indios (#1, 12-3) 105-100. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Caneros consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team's 8-8 record is not bad at all. Lugic is one of the most experienced players at Caneros and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Kevin Obanor (203-F-1999) of Heroes de Moca (#3). Obanor scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Heroes, leading his team to a 89-81 win against #2 ranked Metros. Obanor has a great season in Dominican Republic. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.8rpg (8th best).
